It’s hard to believe it was just three weeks ago I came on board. We had an unstocked warehouse and a rough plan of how this could work. And then yesterday, thanks to the help of an amazing group of volunteers we packed our first orders and are doing our first round of drop-offs today! That is worth celebrating!
I wanted to let everyone know a bit about where things are at – the successes we are having, some of the issues we are working through and what to expect going forward.
Like I mentioned, our Grey/Simcoe orders are going out today and tomorrow to the pick-up locations. We had a crew of volunteer in yesterday to pack all the orders and they did an amazing job. There were a few items here and there that we didn’t have, and in those cases we have credited your order. Overall the pack went well – but if you have any issues, please let me know and we’ll get that resolved.
Orders for Bruce County open up tomorrow (Friday). We are going to open the online store at noon and it will be open until Sunday night. We had opened the store at 9am last week – there were a few glitches that came up and I just want to ensure those don’t happen again when the store ‘goes live’ tomorrow with the new period. So we’ll open the store at noon.
Credit Card Payments: I know some folks have been having issues with their credit cards – some of you have reached out to me directly and I’ve updated your info. The charges for anyone who has placed an order are ready to go in our online-store. There is an issue with how our store is talking to the bank to process these payments though. With a lot of change over in the board/staff and the updating of bank authority there have been some delays. We should have this issue resolved asap and you will then see the transaction show up on your card. If your order was payed by eTransfer – those have been logged. And coming into this weekend, if you do have an issue with your credit card on the store – email me and we’ll get it updated.
We know there are still some holes in our drop off locations – we are continuing to add locations so you will see more options coming up as we move forward. We appreciate everyone’s understanding the need to start with only pick-up locations. We are working to accommodate those that require home delivery using volunteer drivers.
In the short term we will be going with this bi-weekly ordering schedule and will keep everyone updated as we look to get back to weekly orders and home delivery.
