Picking Up Your Order

How do I become a member?

Thanks for your interest! You can become an Eat Local member by signing up here. The website will walk you through the process. There are three steps you need to complete before you’ll be able to place an order.

  1. Set up an account on the website.
  2. Add your credit card details. Once you’re logged in with your account from step 1, you can add your credit card details here by clicking on the Credit Card tab.
  3. Purchase a membership. Once you’re logged in with your account from step 1, you can purchase your membership here by clicking the green button in the Membership Info section.

All three of those steps need to be completed before you can place your first order.

How do I renew my membership?

You can renew your membership here once you’ve logged into the website.

When can I place an order?

Eat Local Grey Bruce uses a windowed ordering period. This schedule allows us to work directly with our producer members to harvest, bake, make, and craft items as fresh as possible! Orders are placed over the weekend, from Friday at 12:30pm to Sunday at 11:30pm. You can learn more about the weekly schedule here.

How do I update my credit card information?

You update your credit card details here by clicking on the Credit Card tab.

Where do I select my pick up location?

Each time you place an order, the last step will prompt you to confirm your pick up location. You can set your default pick up location here by going to the Default Distribution Location, clicking on the drop down list, and selecting your preferred pick up location. If you received a confirmation and the wrong pickup location is selected, contact us before Wednesday morning to update the location.

I need to change something in my order! Where can I do that?

You’re welcome to make changes to your order through the web store while the ordering window is still open. The window closes at 11:30pm on Sunday. If your order change comes from one of our wholesale suppliers, there’s a chance we may be able to make changes, but it depends on what we have in stock at the warehouse. If your order change comes from one of our producer members, it will be harder to make that change as producers start gathering items that have been ordered on Monday for pick up on Tuesday. You’re always welcome to reach out directly to see if we can accommodate the change, but there’s no guarantee.

When will my order be delivered?

ELGB delivers orders on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Times and dates different depending on your location. You can see the delivery schedule here.

I forgot to pick up my order! Who do I contact?

If you forgot to pick up your order, your best bet is to reach out to the pick up location directly. You’ll find their contact information on the email you received confirming your order. The contact information is also available on this page under the Default Distribution Location area. If your pick up location is self-serve like Sydenham Campus in Owen Sound, feel free to contact us directly and we’ll let you know the next steps.

How can I volunteer with ELGB?

Thanks for your interest! Eat Local has a number of volunteer positions available including warehouse packers, committee members, board members, and event tablers. We also offer benefits to volunteers who commit to regular hours. You can learn more about volunteering with ELGB and learn how to apply here.

I have a problem with my order. Who do I contact?

If there is a mistake with your order or one of the items is not good quality, you can reach out to us directly and we will resolve the problem for you. If there is an error during packing that we are aware of, often we’ll add a note to your order receipt included with your order. Please make sure to check the receipt first!

I’m looking for a specific product. Can you help?

Absolutely! As a member co-operative, we love when members make suggestions for new items. You can reach out directly to make new product requests and we’ll do our best to find a local producer that might offer them.
